Broadlinc Selects IP Infusion’s OcNOS® and Partner RocNet for Rural Broadband Expansion in Kentucky

OcNOS Software and UfiSpace Hardware Power Cost-Effective, High-Density Routing Solution for Fixed Wireless Deployments

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--IP Infusion, a global leader in open networking software solutions, today announced that Broadlinc, a Kentucky-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) serving rural communities, has selected IP Infusion’s OcNOS Service Provider MPLS software running on UfiSpace hardware for a new fixed wireless deployment. Partnering with RocNet, Broadlinc adopted a network disaggregation approach to deliver cost-effective, high-performance broadband connectivity to underserved areas as part of a grant-funded project.

Broadlinc’s adoption of OcNOS reflects the growing demand for open networking solutions that deliver carrier-grade performance at a fraction of the cost.

Broadlinc sought a robust routing solution for its fixed wireless deployments that offered greater durability than its usual WISP-focused vendor and lower costs than solutions typically sought after by larger providers. After a compelling remote lab demonstration by RocNet, Broadlinc chose OcNOS on UfiSpace hardware for its rich feature set, high port density, and cost efficiency. The deployment supports core routing for EPC environments with 5G LTE, connecting rural communities with reliable broadband.

“Broadlinc’s adoption of OcNOS reflects the growing demand for open networking solutions that deliver carrier-grade performance at a fraction of the cost,” said Kiyo Oishi, CEO of IP Infusion. “We’re proud to partner with RocNet to empower ISPs like Broadlinc to bridge the digital divide in rural areas.”

The decision was driven by OcNOS’s familiar CLI, which mirrored Broadlinc’s experience with traditional brands, minimizing training needs. UfiSpace’s high port density hardware also enabled Broadlinc to optimize rack space in leased facilities. The all-inclusive perpetual licensing model of OcNOS, combined with clear, detailed product documentation, eliminated concerns about hidden costs and complex feature add-ons.

“OcNOS and UfiSpace hardware provided the perfect balance of price, performance, and availability for our rural broadband expansion,” said TJ Scott, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager for Broadlinc. “RocNet’s expertise and hands-on support made the transition seamless, and the solution’s rich feature set ensures we can meet the needs of our communities.”

Broadlinc has partnered with RocNet for more than 10 years, relying on their training, initial configurations, and exceptional support.

“We’re thrilled to help Broadlinc deploy IP Infusion’s OcNOS on UfiSpace hardware,” said Mike Baker, CEO, RocNet. “The lab demo showcased the solution’s power and ease of use, and we’re excited to support Broadlinc’s mission to connect rural Kentucky.”
