The American Water Charitable Foundation and New Jersey American Water Announce 2025 Hydration Station Grant Recipients

CAMDEN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., along with New Jersey American Water are excited to announce the recipients of its Hydration Station Grant Program. Ten organizations across New Jersey will utilize the funding to install water bottle refill stations in public spaces, helping reduce single-use plastic waste and foster trust in tap water.

The grant program, launched in 2024, helps communities improve access to safe, reliable tap water while promoting sustainability.

One of last year’s recipients, Kula Urban Farm in Asbury Park, has already seen community impact. “The installation of the water bottle filling station at Kula Urban Farm represents a meaningful step toward promoting health equity and environmental sustainability in Asbury Park’s west side neighborhood,” said Heather Triarsi, Associate Executive Director of Interfaith Neighbors. “It’s a simple but powerful resource that supports our mission to uplift underserved neighborhoods through thoughtful, community centered development.”

This year’s grant recipients include:

• Donald Aleshire & J. Holmes Memorial Scholarship Fund for installation at Washington Street Park in Mount Holly.
• Egg Harbor Township Board of Education for installation at Adler Avenue Middle School.
• Heart of Camden for installation in their community gym located at the corner of Broadway and Viola Street in Camden.
• Howell High School Parent and Teacher Association for installation at Howell High School.
• Neptune City Public School District for installation at Woodrow Wilson School.
• New Providence Memorial Library (Friends of the New Providence Memorial Library) for installation at New Providence Memorial Library.
• ReSoap Foundation installation at the Somerset County Library System of New Jersey in Bridgewater.
• Roselle Park Youth Baseball/Softball League for installation at league park.
• South Orange Maplewood School District for installation at Columbia High School.
• Washington Township Board of Education for installation at Brass Castle School.

Each selected organization will receive funding to purchase a water bottle filling station at a community location, enhancing access to safe, sustainable drinking water for all. The awarded filling stations are expected to be installed in the coming months to benefit residents, visitors, and the environment alike.

This grant is made possible by funding from the American Water Charitable Foundation as part of its State Strategic Impact Grant Program. State Strategic Impact grants support high-impact projects and initiatives throughout American Water’s national footprint.
