Walker & Dunlop Arranges $1 Billion For Nine Property Portfolio

BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Walker & Dunlop, Inc. announced today that it arranged $1,068,677,000 in loan proceeds over multiple transactions in 2025, to refinance nine properties, totaling 3,099 multifamily units across California and Hawaii.

Walker & Dunlop Multifamily Finance, led by Allan Edelson and his team, arranged the loans on behalf of long-time client, Douglas Emmett. The refinancings were executed through the Fannie Mae DUS® program.

“This transaction represents more than just refinancing, it delivers significant value to Douglas Emmett’s shareholders at a highly competitive rate,” said Allan Edelson, senior managing director of multifamily finance at Walker & Dunlop. “Our team has been working side by side with Douglas Emmett for over a decade, and this execution reflects the strength of that relationship and their exceptional portfolio.”

This portfolio deal created meaningful benefits for Walker & Dunlop and Douglas Emmett, highlighting both the strength of their long-term relationship and the strategic importance of the assets. In addition to this transaction, Walker & Dunlop, Douglas Emmett, and Fannie Mae have successfully completed more than $1 billion in high-quality transactions over the past decade.

“Walker & Dunlop, with Allan Edelson and the team at Fannie Mae, did an incredible job for us; they structured a very complicated financing so the debt could receive the most favorable market pricing,” said Jordan Kaplan, CEO and president at Douglas Emmett. “This financing marks another milestone in our decades-long partnership with Walker & Dunlop and Fannie Mae.”
