Return of experienced industry leader strengthens organization to continue helping clients navigate increasing healthcare threats

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--MorganFranklin Cyber, a leading cybersecurity advisory and managed services firm, today announced the return of cybersecurity expert Matt DeFrain as the Managing Director of the Healthcare, Pharma and Life Sciences sector.

Matt brings over 20 years of experience assisting some of the world’s leading organizations to build cybersecurity, operational resilience and continuity, crisis management, IT resilience and recovery, third-party risk and enterprise management capabilities. In his previous role as MorganFranklin Cyber’s Managing Director and Cyber Operational & Resilience (CORe) practice leader, he played a pivotal role in building customized client programs that deliver effective resilience to a multitude of threats. While at MorganFranklin Cyber, DeFrain also led the firm’s technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sector, providing a valuable asset during his four-year tenure.

In addition, he has worked as a Managing Director of Operational Resilience and Crisis Management for Deloitte and as Director of Cybersecurity & Business Resilience for KPMG. DeFrain is an experienced security consultant, leading numerous client engagements for some of the world's largest companies and successfully managing large, distributed teams across the globe. He has also defined and stood up several consulting service offerings across different firms to drive expertise and value to client organizations.

DeFrain is a Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Certified Member of the Business Continuity Institute (MBCI). DeFrain also received a B.A. from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
