Media Advisory: Groundbreaking and Check Presentation for Transitional Housing Development in Opelousas, Louisiana

OPELOUSAS, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Representatives from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and Catalyst Bank will celebrate the start of construction on a transitional housing project that was helped by a $2 million FHLB Dallas Affordable Housing Program grant awarded through Catalyst Bank. They’ll join The Refinery Mission and elected officials for a groundbreaking and check presentation for The Rig, a housing development in Opelousas, Louisiana, at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2025.

The Refinery Mission’s new transitional housing development will serve men rebuilding their lives in the face of addiction, homelessness and other challenges. The Rig will provide 57 beds for low-income men in the area and on-site programming.
