Applied Policy Welcomes Brittany La Couture as VP of Health Policy

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Applied Policy is pleased to announce the appointment of Brittany La Couture as Vice President of Health Policy, specializing in pharmaceutical policy, with a focus on coverage, coding, and reimbursement. Before joining Applied Policy, Brittany served as a Technical Advisor for Medicare Advantage (MA) in the Division of Policy, Analysis, and Planning at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). While at CMS, she:

  • Led the design and implementation of the reporting and scoring requirements for Alternative Payment Model (APM) participants under the Quality Payment Program (QPP), used to determine Medicare Part B clinician payment based on performance.
  • Authored a regulation to cap broker compensation for signing new Medicare Advantage enrollees, incentivizing the brokers to diversify their portfolio and relieving unwarranted marketing pressure on Medicare beneficiaries.
  • Served as the CMS lead to improve in-house network adequacy reviews, ensuring that beneficiaries were informed of potential provider terminations in ample time to make an informed decision about any need to change plans.
