CAMPBELL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mirantis, the Kubernetes‑native AI infrastructure company enabling enterprises to build and operate scalable, secure, and sovereign AI infrastructure across any environment, today announced that it is extending support for Swarm for another five years. Mirantis delivers enterprise‑grade Swarm through Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE).

“Swarm’s simplicity and low operational overhead make it ideal for use cases that don’t require the full power of Kubernetes.”

Now in its fifth year of active enterprise support, Mirantis continues to invest in Swarm, improving usability and security while expanding hybrid orchestration support. Swarm remains a core component of MKE, which provides customers with a choice of both Kubernetes and Swarm orchestrators for their container workloads.

“Swarm’s simplicity and low operational overhead make it ideal for use cases that don’t require the full power of Kubernetes,” said Dominic Wilde, senior vice president of marketing, Mirantis. “While Kubernetes has taken over as the world’s leading container orchestrator, Swarm continues to be a popular option, with more than 100 of our customers utilizing Swarm for production workloads, and continual sales inquiries from enterprises interested in Swarm.”

The vast majority of enterprise Swarm customers also deploy Kubernetes clusters using MKE, and a significant number of them deploy mixed clusters with both Swarm and Kubernetes nodes. MKE provides users with a convenient on-ramp for future Kubernetes adoption.

Mirantis conducts regular security validation and updates to address security vulnerabilities. MKE uses encryption modules that are validated for Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) 140-2 security requirements. Swarm users can also deploy Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guides (DISA STIG) compliant solutions complete with TLS authentication, image signing, audit logging, and role-based access control (RBAC).
