Guild Names JP Moran as New Chief Commercial Officer

Moran brings decades of experience in talent development and HR tech to accelerate Guild’s mission of unlocking opportunity for America’s workforce

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Guild, the leading talent development company, today announced that JP Moran has joined the company as its new Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, Moran will drive the continued evolution of Guild’s go-to-market efforts, scaling the company’s impact across industries and transforming how employers invest in their talent.

Moran’s appointment comes as more employers turn to skilling and talent development programs to address labor shortages, rising turnover, and AI-driven disruption. With nearly two decades of experience across human capital, talent development, and the future of work—most recently serving as Chief Revenue Officer at Lightcast—Moran is uniquely equipped to lead Guild’s efforts to deepen partnerships and deliver measurable business outcomes for employers.

“JP brings the rare combination of deep industry expertise, commercial acumen, and operational excellence at a pivotal moment when Guild is poised to scale our impact,” said Bijal Shah, CEO of Guild. “He understands what is at stake for employers navigating a rapidly shifting labor market and for workers striving to build meaningful careers. He is committed to building a more resilient workforce to drive our economy forward, and I am confident his leadership will be instrumental as we continue to expand Guild’s reach to help employers unlock the full potential of their people.”

“I was drawn to Guild both personally and professionally. I spent many years working with the federal prison system—connecting previously incarcerated individuals with job opportunities and the necessary skills training to land those jobs—which taught me that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not,” said JP Moran, Chief Commercial Officer at Guild. “As I step into this role, my top priority is getting close to Guild’s employer partners to deeply understand their pain points and strategic priorities so that we can take action on delivering greater value for their business, and together create the opportunity for the talent within their organizations.”

As Chief Commercial Officer, Moran now oversees Guild’s Commercial teams, including Employer Sales, Solutions Consulting, Employer Partner Services, and Healthcare & Applied Learning.

Prior to Lightcast, Moran led go-to-market teams at Coursera and Skillsoft. He also spent more than a decade at CareerBuilder. There, he led an initiative to address enterprise hiring challenges by creating learning pathways for individuals in the prison system and connecting them with job opportunities after incarceration. Moran holds a B.S. in Organizational Communications from Ohio University and an MBA from Cleveland State University.
