Nigel Morris Named to 2025 Forbes Midas List of Best Investors

QED Investors Co-Founder and Managing Partner honoured for fifth consecutive year

ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--QED Investors Co-Founder Nigel Morris has been named to Forbes’ annual Midas List highlighting the best venture capitalists in the world.

Managing Partner Morris ranked No. 90 on the 2025 list. It marks five consecutive appearances as a Midas List honouree since his debut in the 2021 edition. At least one member of the QED team has been recognized on Forbes’ list every year since 2018.

Produced in partnership with TrueBridge Capital Partners, the Midas List is the definitive global ranking of the top 100 tech investors.

“I am incredibly proud to be named to Forbes’ Midas List for the fifth time in a row,” said Morris. “While this seems like an individual award, it is very much the outcome of a unified team effort across many geographies. I’m fortunate to stand on the shoulders of my colleagues and our CEOs, and this recognition reflects the dedication of my teammates, the success of our portfolio companies and the trust placed in us by our LPs, without which none of this would be possible.”

Morris led QED's early investment into Brazilian neobank Nubank, where he sat on the advisory board. The company went public in December 2021 at a $41 billion market cap and now has a $58 billion market cap. He is also the chairman of QED portfolio companies ClearScore and Mission Lane, serves on the boards of Remitly, Bitso and Current and is a board observer for QuintoAndar and Albert.

Prior to launching QED in 2007, Morris co-founded Capital One, where he served as COO and President, taking the bank public and scaling it to a decacorn in the public markets.

A company is considered for VC deal attribution on the Midas List if it has exited in the past five years at more than $200 million or is a private, unexited company valued at more than $400 million.

QED has invested in more than 250 fintech companies, including 31 unicorns and has an AUM of $4 billion. In 2023, QED closed nearly $1 billion in new funds between an oversubscribed $690 million eighth early stage fund and a $275 million second growth-stage fund.
