Fastest Major ISP in the Nation Brings Network to More Michigan Communities

EVANSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metronet, recognized by PCMag as the nation’s fastest major internet provider for two consecutive years, announced today that it is expanding its 100% fiber-optic network to Bloomfield Hills, Mich. This multimillion-dollar investment is privately funded and will provide residents and businesses with ultra-fast, reliable internet with symmetrical speeds of up to five gigabits per second for homes and up to ten gigabits per second for businesses.

Construction is expected to start this summer, with the first customers to gain service by fall. Residents and businesses interested in signing up for updates and pre-sale opportunities can visit metronet.com/mi/bloomfield-hills.

“We’re proud to expand into Bloomfield Hills as part of our growing footprint in Michigan,” said Telly Whitfield, Ph.D., director of new market development at Metronet. “Our fiber-optic network delivers the fast, reliable internet access that communities need to thrive now and into the future.”

Metronet’s 100% fiber-optic technology delivers symmetrical upload and download speeds, enabling seamless streaming, video conferencing, online education, and gaming with minimal latency.

As construction begins, residents will see Metronet crews working in neighborhoods throughout Bloomfield Hills. The company will provide advance notice at least 30 days before construction through mailed letters, yard signs, and local outreach. All Metronet team members will be identified with company-branded vehicles and official ID badges.

Metronet is hiring local positions to support its expansion in Bloomfield Hills and throughout the state. Those interested can explore open roles and apply at metronet.com/careers.

The expansion into Bloomfield Hills is part of Metronet’s continued investment across Michigan, where it is already building high-speed fiber infrastructure in more than 40 communities, including Lansing, East Lansing, Grand Rapids and Portage.
