“Cleary is committed to embedding AI into our workflows in strategic and competitive ways,” said Cleary Managing Partner Michael Gerstenzang. “Partnering with Legora allows us to unlock efficiencies across the firm and deliver differentiated, high-quality work for our clients.”

Founded in 2023 and led by CEO and Y Combinator alum Max Junestrand, Legora is designed to maximize collaboration between lawyers and machine intelligence. The platform is designed to allow lawyers to complete end-to-end tasks more quickly and accurately, enhancing the efficiency of workflows. Legora helps professionals review tens of thousands of documents, supports mark-up in Word, and is enabled with world-class data partnerships and enterprise-grade security and privacy. It is currently utilized in over 20 countries by over 250 clients.

“The U.S. is the most important market for innovative legal technology,” Junestrand said. “Legora is excited to expand our footprint in North America and partner with the pioneering lawyers at Cleary. In this fast-moving market, it will be firms like Cleary who lead the way and innovate in their ability to deliver exceptional client service.”

Legora’s collaborative AI platform is one part of Cleary’s multi-faceted approach to driving AI integration across the firm. Cleary recently acquired Springbok, a generative AI product development company, to accelerate innovation at the firm and develop custom AI builds for clients and practice groups.

Cleary's differentiated innovation strategy also encompasses the award-winning e-Discovery and Litigation Technology (DLT) group, which develops and leverages AI tools to meet client litigation needs, ClearyX, which focuses on emerging technologies to create efficient, cost-effective transactional solutions for clients, and Practice Innovation which infuses AI technology to empower the firm's delivery of legal services.

“Our firm is committed to embedding AI in a way that is both strategic and thoughtful,” said Cleary Director of Practice Innovation Ilona Logvinova. “This is not about simply rolling out AI across the firm, but about engaging with identified, high-value use cases that enhance our ability to serve clients across practices, teams, and regions.”
