Metronet’s Blazing-Fast Fiber Internet Now Available in Council Bluffs

Multimillion-Dollar Privately Funded Network Brings High-Speed Connectivity to the City

EVANSVILLE, Ind.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Metronet, recognized as the “Fastest ISP in the Country” by PCMag for two consecutive years, has officially launched its 100% fiber-optic internet in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Residents in initial service areas can now sign up for ultra-fast fiber-optic internet with speeds of up to five gigabits per second, while businesses can access speeds of up to ten gigabits per second.

Metronet began constructing its privately funded multimillion-dollar fiber-optic network in Council Bluffs last fall. As construction progresses, the company’s multigigabit service will become available to more homes and businesses, expanding neighborhood by neighborhood.

“The arrival of Metronet’s fiber-optic network marks a new era of connectivity for Council Bluffs,” said Kris Smith, vice president of city relations at Metronet. “As we bring our ultra-fast, 100% fiber-optic speeds to the community, we look forward to supporting local businesses and residents who rely on internet every day.”

Metronet’s fiber-optic technology delivers symmetrical upload and download speeds, ensuring a seamless online experience for video conferencing, streaming, gaming, and more. Residents and businesses can visit metronet.com/ia/council-bluffs to check availability and sign up for service.

Residents will continue to see Metronet construction teams as they expand service across the city. The company will notify residents about upcoming work at least 30 days in advance through mailed letters, yard signs, and neighborhood entrance signs. Metronet crews will be easily identifiable with company-branded vehicles and ID badges.

To support its expansion in Council Bluffs, Metronet is hiring local team members, including sales representatives and service technicians. Those interested in joining the team can visit metronet.com/careers to explore opportunities.

Metronet continues to invest across Iowa, bringing fiber-optic internet to communities such as Ames, Ankeny, Cedar Falls, Davenport, Des Moines, Sioux City, Waterloo and dozens more communities. To learn more, visit metronet.com/ia.
