Sterlington Adds Executive Compensation Partner Kristy Fields

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sterlington PLLC announced today that Kristy Fields, an executive compensation lawyer who most recently practiced as a partner at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, has joined the firm as a partner. Fields is the latest new joiner in a series of major lateral hires for Sterlington in recent months.

“In the small community of premier executive compensation advisors, Kristy is one of the best,” said Christopher S. Harrison, managing partner of Sterlington. “She is an ideal addition to Sterlington, enhancing the capabilities of our already-leading practice.”

Fields negotiates and drafts complex compensation and benefits packages in connection with mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, restructurings, hirings, separations, and other transformative moments for founders, CEOs, and senior executives. She has worked across several regulated and unregulated industries, including oil and gas, real estate, technology, financial services, and infrastructure.

“I am delighted to join the forward-thinking executive compensation practice at Sterlington,” said Fields. “It’s highly rewarding to advocate for executives and founders in some of the most personally meaningful deals they will be involved with in their careers, and I look forward to doing that at Sterlington.”

Fields joins a series of high-profile lateral partners who have joined Sterlington in the last seven months. They include Larry Waks, a leading corporate lawyer known for advising A-list celebrities and global brands on high-stakes M&A; Robert Ray, the former federal prosecutor who succeeded Kenneth Starr as independent counsel; Jonathan Sherman, a decorated litigator who spent much of his career at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP; Courtney Rockett, another highly-regarded longtime Boies Schiller litigator; Michael Smith, an international corporate lawyer; Jesse Sherrett, an international arbitration lawyer from A&O Shearman; and Paul Jebely, the top private aviation attorney to ultra-high-net-worth individuals.

Fields, who has spent her entire career in the executive compensation area, previously practiced at Vinson & Elkins, Perkins Coie, and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton. She has been recognized as a Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2020 to 2024. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from New York University School of Law, an M.A. in forensic clinical psychology from Sam Houston State University, and a B.A. in cognitive science from UC San Diego.
