Banner Bank Named Among the 100 Best Banks in America for Ninth Consecutive Year

WALLA WALLA, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Forbes has named Banner Bank one of the 100 Best Banks in America for the ninth consecutive year. Banner is one of only two banks headquartered in Washington to make the list—and the highest ranked at number 27.

“This Forbes accolade is especially meaningful because it is largely based on our financial health and strength, and it comes on the heels of considerable economic headwinds over the past two years,” said Banner Bank President and CEO Mark Grescovich.

“This Forbes accolade is especially meaningful because it is largely based on our financial health and strength, and it comes on the heels of considerable economic headwinds over the past two years,” said Banner Bank President and CEO Mark Grescovich. “Continuing to be a source of capital to our clients and community through all economic cycles is possible because of the hard work and dedication of our entire team.”

To create the list, Forbes looked at 11 metrics measuring growth, credit quality and profitability for the 12 months ending September 30, 2024, as well as stock performance in the 12 months through January 10, 2025. The equally-weighted financial metrics are net interest margin; return on average tangible common equity; return on average assets; CET1 ratio; efficiency ratio; nonperforming assets as a percentage of total assets; reserves as a percentage of total assets; risk-based capital ratio; operating revenue growth; and net charge-offs as a percentage of total loans.
