Oliver Patel, AI Governance Lead at AstraZeneca, and Roanie Levy, Copyright and AI Advisor for CCC, to Discuss a Risk-Managed Approach to AI Governance and Compliance During a LinkedIn Live Conversation on 27 February, 10:00 am EST

DANVERS, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--CCC, a leader in advancing copyright, accelerating knowledge, and powering innovation, will host a virtual town hall on “Bridging Innovation and Integrity: A Discussion of Responsible AI Practices” via LinkedIn Live on Thursday, 27 February, 10:00 am EST/4:00 pm CET.

Oliver Patel, AI Governance Lead at AstraZeneca, and Roanie Levy, former CEO and President of Access Copyright, will discuss building a responsible and ethical AI governance program, navigating risks, and maximizing trust and value from innovation. The conversation will also examine global copyright implications and the rapidly expanding marketplace of licensing solutions to support various AI use cases.

“Responsible AI, including good copyright practices, isn’t just the ethical pathway for companies but also imperative when building trust, safety, and a sustainable ecosystem of human-created works,” said Tracey Armstrong, President and CEO, CCC. “CCC is pleased to bring together Oliver and Roanie, thought leaders from their respective industries, to share insights that will certainly benefit attendees who have oversight or influence on enterprise activities related to AI and data, compliance and risk management, legal, research and development, knowledge management, operational management and efficiency, and others.”

CCC advocates for copyright worldwide by engaging governments, stakeholders, and individuals with educational programming, thought leadership resources, and through its online hub, AI, Copyright & Licensing.

In July 2024, CCC announced the availability of AI rights for internal corporate use within its Annual Copyright License (ACL), an enterprise-wide content licensing solution offering companies an efficient way to obtain rights to use copyrighted materials within AI systems. The license provides users with a harmonized set of internal use AI rights from a broad range of rightsholders and remunerates rightsholders for these new uses of their content.

Since 1978, CCC has supported content users by providing efficient, harmonized licensing solutions for their internal content uses. CCC’s non-exclusive voluntary collective licensing solutions include ACL for Business, Multinational Copyright License (MCL) for Business, ACL for Higher Education, ACL for Curriculum & Instruction, and ACL for Student Assessments. In addition to licensing solutions, CCC provides one-stop access for users to request, receive, and pay for full-text content and permissions to re-use content.
