Cambium Learning Group Wins HR Team of the Year at the 2024 WorkLife Awards

Edtech company receives recognition for its commitment to fostering a supportive work environment

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Cambium Learning Group, the education essentials company, announced that it is a winner at the 2024 WorkLife Awards, presented by Digiday. The company's People Experience (PX) Department won HR Team of the Year in recognition of its dedication to ensuring all employees feel seen, valued and supported. In addition, Cambium Chief People Officer Melissa Yates May was shortlisted for the People/HR Leader of the Year category.

“It’s an honor to be recognized as a people-first, purpose-driven company, and this achievement is a testament to the work and dedication of our PX team – who show up every single day to make Cambium the best place it can be for our employees,” said Yates May. “At Cambium, we’ve learned that our employees do their best work when their needs are met. Whether that looks like creating a flexible work model, streamlining communication channels, or increasing opportunities for team collaboration, we've made it a priority to advocate for our people and are grateful to our executive team for their unwavering support in fostering a workplace where our employees can thrive.”

Cambium’s PX Department prioritizes human-centric initiatives, including implementing internal feedback loops that help the company understand its employees at each stage of their employment cycle, providing equitable opportunity for all employees and ample paid time off (including volunteer service time and disaster relief time away), and championing a Remote First environment. Through the Remote First model, 98% of Cambium employees work remotely. This flexibility lets employees focus on driving innovation, allowing Cambium to create edtech solutions that make a direct impact in classrooms.

The WorkLife Awards honor companies that foster cultures of growth, creativity, and well-being amongst their employees. This year’s winners were recognized for their focus on cultivating skill-building, workplace transparency, and supportive cultures.
