Avangrid Named One of America’s Most JUST Companies by JUST Capital and CNBC

Avangrid ranked on prestigious JUST 100 list for the fifth consecutive year

JUST Capital’s ranking of America’s most JUST companies is the only corporate ranking based on the priorities of the American public

ORANGE, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Avangrid, Inc., a leading energy company and member of the Iberdrola Group, today announced that it was recognized for the fifth consecutive year on the annual JUST 100 – a list of America’s best corporate citizens published by JUST Capital and its media partner, CNBC. Avangrid’s continued presence on this prestigious list is indicative of its commitment to serving to all stakeholders, including employees, customers, communities, and the environment.

Avangrid ranked #4 for the utility industry, earning high scores in key areas such as workforce development, fair wages, ethical leadership, pollution reduction, and climate commitments.

“We are honored to once again be recognized by JUST Capital as one of America’s most JUST companies,” said Pedro Azagra, Avangrid CEO. “We are committed to fostering an exceptional workplace for Avangrid’s 8,000 employees who work from coast to coast serving customers and communities, while delivering reliable power to families and businesses. This recognition is a testament to that dedication across our organization—from human resources and procurement to customer service and communications. The entire Avangrid team puts our core values into practice daily.”

Each year, JUST Capital begins by polling the American public on a fully representative basis on their priorities for business behavior. It then evaluates how the largest corporations in the country perform against those criteria. Leading companies are recognized for their performance on top priority issues such as: paying fair, living wages; supporting worker well-being; career advancement, training, and work-life balance; communicating transparently; strengthening communities; ethical leadership; and treating customers fairly.

“Performance expectations for business leaders today are sky high. The JUST 100 demonstrates how companies can create value for their investors, their key stakeholders, and America more broadly by focusing on core business operations,” said JUST Capital CEO Martin Whittaker. “At the end of the day, it doesn’t have to be that complicated. It’s just business.”

The JUST Capital 2025 Rankings of America’s Most JUST Companies and JUST 100 List celebrate top-performing Russell 1000 companies that are demonstrating leadership in responding to the needs of the American people. This year’s list was compiled before Avangrid was fully acquired by its parent company, Iberdrola S.A., and de-listed from the New York Stock Exchange.

To produce the 2025 Rankings, JUST evaluated 940 companies across 36 industries, 17 Issues, and 88 raw data points
