Sinclair Announces the Retirement of Dave Howitt, Senior Vice-President of Programming

BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sinclair today announced that Dave Howitt, Senior Vice President of Programming, will retire on March 31, after a career spanning more than 48 years in television, including over 30 years with Sinclair.

Howitt has been a cornerstone of Sinclair’s programming operations, focusing on the acquisition of syndicated programming and program scheduling, overseeing syndicated programming efforts for 43 markets and 90 stations.

Before joining Sinclair, Howitt held various promotion and programming management roles at WUAB in Cleveland and WTTV in Indianapolis. Throughout his career, he gained valuable experience working with prominent broadcasting companies such as United Artists, Gaylord, Cannell, and River City, before ultimately joining Sinclair in 1994.

“I’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredible people at Sinclair, stations, program distribution companies, and networks,” said Howitt. “Throughout my career, I’ve had a front-row seat to the evolution of television, particularly in broadcast syndication and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities this industry has provided.”

Within Sinclair’s programming department, the company has elevated two executives, naming Linda Greenwald and Matthew Diehlmann Directors of Programming.
