NEA Promotes Hunter Worland and Mustafa Neemuchwala to Principal

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Global venture capital firm New Enterprise Associates, Inc. (NEA) today announced the promotions of Mustafa Neemuchwala and Hunter Worland to Principal. Neemuchwala and Worland, both based in NEA’s New York office, joined the technology investment team in 2021. Neemuchwala invests in enterprise technology from seed to late-stage growth, with a focus on AI, cybersecurity, infrastructure and frontier tech. Worland invests in fintech, commerce and consumer technology.

Mustafa Neemuchwala works closely with technology companies across NEA's portfolio including Antimatter, Branch, Crowdbotics, Firestorm Labs, Flox, Granica, Martian, Mashgin, Pulumi, SafeBase, Second Front, Sentry, Singularity, Together AI, Union AI, Uniphore among others. His investment focus across stages includes AI, cybersecurity, infrastructure, defense, and frontier technologies across hardware and software. Before joining NEA, Neemuchwala advised on $58B of transformative tech M&A deals at Qatalyst Partners across frontier tech, infrastructure & application software, cybersecurity, fintech, and consumer internet. Neemuchwala graduated from the University of Texas at Austin, studying fundamental and quantitative finance, liberal arts, computer science, and mathematics.

Hunter Worland works with companies across the firm’s consumer and enterprise practices including Fabric8Labs, Juvo, Kindred, LXA, Rocket.chat, Slash and others. Worland’s investment focus is on applications and infrastructure for the digital economy, particularly in fintech, commerce, and consumer. He is the author of The Current, NEA’s content series on the developments impacting consumer technology. Prior to joining NEA in 2021, Worland was an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company in New York, where he worked with media and financial services clients. Hunter graduated from Harvard University with a degree in history and government, as well as a certificate in Latin American studies and a Hoopes Prize.
