Dream Machine FX announces Gavin Graham as President of North America

TORONTO & MONTREAL & BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dream Machine is pleased to announce that Gavin Graham has joined the group as President of North America. In this role, he will be leading Dream Machine’s operations in the region, which include brands and facilities in Boston, Toronto and Montreal.

Gavin brings over 25 years of experience in the VFX industry, with the bulk of that time at DNEG. After starting his career in technical and artistic FX positions, he eventually moved into CG supervision before rising to become DNEG’s Co-Head of 3D in London and then Global Head of CG. His credits include Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Cloverfield, 2012, Stardust, among many others.

After 18 years in London at DNEG, Gavin was asked to lead DNEG’s Montreal studio expansion, where he realized his true career passion for building high-performing teams and facilitating a better artist experience. Under his leadership, DNEG grew its Montreal facility to a peak size of 1,100 headcount and also expanded into Toronto, which grew to over 300 headcount at its peak.

Speaking of the appointment, Gavin says, “I am beyond delighted to take on this role and work with the exceptional talent already established in the Dream Machine team here. I’m also thrilled to be collaborating with the wider Dream Machine group with Important Looking Pirates in Europe and FIN Design + Effects in Australia, some of whom I have known and respected going back decades. I’m excited by the vision that the leadership team has for Dream Machine, and look forward to achieving great things with the group.”

David Li, Managing Partner of Arenova Capital, states further, “We are excited to welcome Gavin to the Dream Machine family and for him to bring his creative and business experience to Dream Machine North America. It is incredibly clear that Gavin shares our core values of being talent-first, celebrating artistic excellence and embracing tech enablement. We look forward to Dream Machine’s further growth and expansion in North America under his leadership.”
