AM Best to Participate on Panel Focused on MGAs and Other Alternative Capacity Providers at Global Risk Solutions Workshop in Florida

OLDWICK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--AM Best will participate in a panel discussion at the “Turning the Corner: The New Normal of The Florida Insurance Marketplace Workshop,” which will take place Jan. 22-23, 2025, in Bradenton, FL, at the Global Risk Solutions’ headquarters.

AM Best Associate Director Dawn Walker will join a panel discussion, titled, “The Future of Florida Catastrophe Capacity: Parametric Settlements, MGAs, Captives, E&S and ILS,” which will focus on how standard auto and homeowners markets in Florida are evolving. With that, the discussion will look at how managing general agents, captives, insurance-linked securities and surplus lines markets can fill the gap and provide capacity to the challenging Florida insurance market. The session is scheduled for 10:10 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. (EST) on Thursday, Jan. 23. Walker is associate director, Industry Relations (DUAE) at AM Best and has more than 15 years of insurance industry and risk management experience.
