Androvett Legal Media & Marketing Announces Top 10 Texas Legal Stories of 2024

Diverse mix of national debates, local issues featured in annual review of most impactful legal news

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Texas-based full-service marketing and public relations agency Androvett Legal Media & Marketing has studied the top legal news developments in the state from 2024 to present its annual Top 10 Texas Legal News Stories.

This year’s list features a diverse range of issues, from reproductive rights to gun bans.

“While Texas continues to be at the forefront of vital national debates, such as access to reproductive care and the future of DEI initiatives, just as important are the local issues that are directly impacting the lives of Texans,” said Mike Androvett, founder and CEO of Androvett Legal Media & Marketing.

Androvett has tracked the top Texas legal stories annually since 2011. Among the 2024 headlines featured:

  • The scheduled execution of Robert Roberson was delayed as questions about the science behind the “shaken baby syndrome” theory used to convict him in the death of his toddler daughter were debated.
  • Hopeful parents and their surrogates were horrified to learn their healthcare escrow accounts were allegedly drained by the leadership of the company entrusted with these vital funds.
  • Questions about police accountability were on the rise, with officers being investigated, charged and forced to face legal responsibility for their actions or inactions in the line of duty.
  • Texas Business Courts opened in five Texas jurisdictions. These specialized courts were created to hear complex commercial cases, solidifying Texas’ position as the “Headquarters of Headquarters,” according to Gov. Greg Abbott.

Androvett Senior Vice President of News and Public Relations Mark Annick, Senior Director of Public Relations April Cadena and Director of Public Relations Barry Pound, along with and podcast producer and digital PR manager Alyssa Woulfe, take an in-depth look at the Top 10 Texas Legal Stories of 2024 in the latest “Keep It Legal” podcast, available on all major podcast platforms.
