Marathon Capital Announces Senior Leadership Expansion

Appoints Ari Pribadi and David Kirkpatrick Global Co-Heads of Investment Banking Reporting to CEO and Founder, Ted Brandt

Ammad Faisal, Head of the firm’s NYC office, has been named Leader of Marathon Capital’s DCM, ECM, PCA, and Financial Sponsor coverage efforts, Jen Zhao assumes the role of Chief Operating Officer – Investment Banking, and Chris Shaw as Head of EMEA

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Marathon Capital, a leading investment banking firm focused on the clean economy, today announced the promotions of five veteran leaders including David Kirkpatrick and Ari Pribadi as Global Co-Heads of Investment Banking, Ammad Faisal as Head of the firm’s NYC office in charge of Marathon Capital’s Financial Sponsor coverage efforts and Capital Markets business, Jen Zhao as Chief Operating Officer – Investment Banking, and Chris Shaw as Head of EMEA to support Marathon Capital’s international efforts while maintaining his current role of running the firm’s UK/EU business. Ted Brandt will continue in his role as Chief Executive Officer of Marathon Capital and Philippe Lavertu will continue as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer.

Under the new structure, Ammad, Jen, and Chris will report to Ari and David as they lead the day-to-day decision making and management of the banking operations from their respective offices in Chicago and San Diego/San Francisco. Ted Brandt will focus on implementing Marathon Capital’s strategic direction, including product development and innovation that will be integral to the firm’s continued international growth, while focusing on key client relationships.

Based in Chicago, Ari Pribadi has led over 30 successful transactions across M&A, corporate finance, project finance, and offtake advisory in power and energy sectors in his 21 years with Marathon Capital. Based in San Diego, David Kirkpatrick is a corporate finance, project finance, and M&A specialist with more than 30 years of experience in the cleantech and renewable energy sectors. The executives will oversee Marathon Capital’s global Investment Banking operations and teams based across North America, Europe, and Asia.
