Joel Pecoy Joins Barings to Lead U.S. Real Estate Debt Asset Management

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Barings, one of the world’s largest diversified real estate investment managers, announced today that industry veteran Joel Pecoy has joined Barings to lead U.S. Real Estate Debt Asset Management, effective immediately. In his new role, Pecoy will be responsible for managing an approximately $25 billion real estate debt portfolio covering nearly 380 assets in the U.S. He will join the U.S. Real Estate Debt Investment Committee and oversee a team of 12 asset managers and servicers, reporting to Nasir Alamgir, Head of U.S. and European Real Estate Debt.

Pecoy brings over 25 years of real estate investing experience to the team, most recently serving as Head of Real Estate Debt Asset Management at Ares. Prior to Ares, Pecoy served as Head of Debt Asset Management at UC Funds and as Finance and Acquisitions Manager at Colony Hills Capital. He has a B.A. in Business from the University of Massachusetts and was a Petty Officer Second Class in the U.S. Navy.
