PitchBook Expands Lending League Tables to Include Private Credit

New private credit rankings spotlight top lenders in US and EU markets

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--PitchBook, the premier data provider for the private and public equity and credit markets, today released its Q3 2024 Lending League Tables, which now features private credit data. This interactive dashboard ranks the most active lenders within private equity and credit in both the United States and Europe. PitchBook’s suite of League Tables offers firms, lenders, and service providers an objective ranking of the top-performing players across global markets, lending, and fund management. With the addition of private credit, lenders and borrowers can better understand the landscape while uncovering market leaders.

The existing private equity data in PitchBook’s Lending League Tables includes the most active lenders in buyouts, secondary buyouts, and add-ons. The Q3 2024 Lending League Tables will now have data on the most active lenders in:

  • LBOs
  • Deals under $500M
  • Deals over $500M
  • Private credit companies in general debt, senior debt, and revolvers

PitchBook’s integration of private credit into its lending league tables arrives at a pivotal moment for private markets. With private credit’s rapid growth driven by heavy fundraising and increasing liquidity, this enhancement provides clarity for lenders and borrowers navigating a competitive and evolving market. According to PitchBook LCD’s latest market sentiment survey, deal activity is expected to rise despite challenges such as geopolitical uncertainties and asset sourcing, making this data more valuable than ever.

“Private credit is reshaping the financial landscape as tighter bank lending pushes borrowers toward alternative solutions,” said Jake Hujar, Director, Data Operations at PitchBook. “The addition of private credit rankings provides our clients with unparalleled transparency into a rapidly evolving market. This enhancement underscores our commitment to delivering actionable insights that help our clients uncover new opportunities in an increasingly dynamic capital market.”

Published quarterly, Lending League Tables are part of PitchBook’s suite of interactive dashboards, providing extensive insights into private market leaders across regions, deal types, and sectors. Global League Tables rank the most active firms and service providers involved in completed transactions across deal types, regions, and sectors. Manager Performance Scores, developed by PitchBook’s Quantitative Research team, contextualize private fund performance by fund family groupings across strategy, vintage, geography, and sector.
