ACOs Using Lightbeam Solutions Report Record MSSP Savings in PY23, Driving Cumulative Savings Beyond $3 Billion Milestone

In Performance Year 2023, Lightbeam-supported ACOs managed care for more than 1 million patients, serving 10% of all MSSP ACO beneficiaries

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lightbeam Health Solutions, the leader in population health enablement technology and solutions, proudly announces that Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) using Lightbeam’s solutions generated nearly half a billion in gross Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) savings in Performance Year (PY) 2023. Since program inception, Lightbeam has led population health solution providers in driving value with more than $3 billion in gross MSSP savings and more than $5 billion in total savings across all value-based care contracts.

Lightbeam’s Population Health Advisory Services continues to be a key differentiator driving MSSP ACO performance. ACOs actively engaged with Lightbeam Advisory Services generated more than $250 million in gross savings in PY 23 and averaged more than $17 million in gross savings per ACO, 6% higher than the average across all other industry ACOs. Furthermore, Advisory-engaged ACOs reached an average savings rate of 4.68%, surpassing the all-ACO average by 12%. Given the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) requirement to transition to downside risk, Lightbeam's Advisory Services’ continued ability to drive cost savings and guarantee successful patient outcomes is mission critical.

Lightbeam’s portfolio of integrated solutions continue to enhance performance by adding value for patients and providers. In PY 2023, MSSP ACOs leveraging Lightbeam CareSignal Deviceless Remote Patient Monitoring® (RPM) or Lightbeam AI managed care for more than 200,000 patients and generated more than $130 million in gross savings. Additionally, ACOs leveraging Deviceless RPM® report improvements across multiple CAHPS measures, achieving average scores higher than industry benchmarks.

“We are proud to see the continued impact of our clients' contributions to MSSP, showcasing Lightbeam's ongoing commitment to driving high-quality care at lower costs,” says Erin Page, COO at Lightbeam Health Solutions. “These results highlight how our comprehensive solutions—from Advisory Services to advanced technologies, like CareSignal and Lightbeam AI—empowering organizations to proactively address healthcare challenges, promote health equity, and enhance patient outcomes. This achievement reflects the collaborative partnership between our team and our clients, working together to transform healthcare delivery and efficiency at scale.”

ACOs in the REACH program leveraging Lightbeam solutions managed care for nearly 150,000 beneficiaries and generated more than $110 million in gross savings in PY 23.
