Payments Innovation Alliance Releases New Conversation Guide to Help Family Members Avoid Scam Attempts

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nacha’s Payments Innovation Alliance, a membership program bringing together diverse global stakeholders seeking to transform the payments industry, has published a new discussion guide, Let’s Talk Turkey, a resource aimed at helping family and friends discuss and avoid common scams targeting mobile devices. With an increasing number of fraudulent activities, including impersonation scams, unsolicited texts and unknown calls, the guide provides straightforward advice to help users identify and block these threats before falling victim.

“Scams targeting mobile devices are becoming increasingly sophisticated, preying on individuals’ trust and the convenience of mobile technology,” said Jennifer West, AAP, APRP, Senior Director, Payments Innovation Alliance, Education and Accreditation. “‘Let’s Talk Turkey’ is designed to help people spot the warning signs of fraud, avoid risky interactions and protect their personal and financial information.”

The release of “Let’s Talk Turkey” reflects the Alliance’s ongoing commitment to supporting financial institutions and other organizations with resources to educate their consumer customers about protecting their financial information for better financial security. Released before the holidays to spur impactful discussions while loved ones are gathered, the free guide offers easy-to-follow tips and scenarios to help mobile device users—of all ages—stay vigilant.

“Let’s Talk Turkey” was compiled by the Alliance’s Cybersecurity and Payments AI Project Team, a group dedicated to developing resources to help organizations and the public understand evolving threats related to potential cyberattacks and AI-based fraud.
