Weatherby Healthcare Names New President, Michael DePaolis

Current President Luke Woodyard promoted to Group President with parent company, CHG Healthcare

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Weatherby Healthcare has announced the promotion of Michael DePaolis to President. Current President Luke Woodyard was also promoted and will take on the pivotal leadership role of Group President with parent company CHG Healthcare, the nation’s largest physician staffing firm.

DePaolis, a 17-year Weatherby veteran, doesn’t mince words about his passion for this next step.

“I am super excited about this opportunity. To be tapped to lead an organization that I have so much love and respect for is a great honor,” said DePaolis. “Everything from the impact we make in healthcare communities across the country to the way we treat each other internally, feeds both my passion and purpose. I have been here for 17 years and have seen us grow exponentially. We have a strong leadership team and are positioned incredibly well for the future. I can’t wait to experience the next phase of our journey.”

DePaolis brings more than 30 years of leadership in the staffing industry to the table. Since joining Weatherby in 2007, he’s risen through the ranks, driving strategy and company success as Senior Vice President of Sales. Now, as President, one of his first priorities will be overseeing Weatherby’s transition to a new, state-of-the-art office in Raleigh, North Carolina. This move isn’t just about geography—it’s about growth: 155 new jobs and an estimated $433.5 million economic impact on the state. DePaolis will also continue to champion the company’s thriving South Florida operations.

“I’ve been working alongside Mike for a decade, and he’s a true partner and true friend,” Woodyard said. “Beyond his expertise and sharp business mind, it’s his compassion that leaves a lasting impression. Every day, I see how much he genuinely cares about this organization and its people.”

Woodyard also has a long history with Weatherby, joining the CHG family of brands in 2009 as a Vice President at sibling staffing brand CompHealth before moving to Weatherby in 2016 as a Senior Director. He spent several years as Senior Vice President before taking the reins as President in 2021. In his new role he will oversee Weatherby and the permanent staffing arm of CompHealth and also take an active role in all strategic clinician initiatives.

“Luke and Mike are game-changers. They’re not just leaders; they’re the heartbeat of this organization,” said Bill Heller, Chief Sales Officer at CHG. “Their ability to inspire growth and uphold our values makes CHG stronger every day.”

With these bold moves, Weatherby Healthcare is positioned to continue breaking barriers and transforming healthcare staffing — one clinician, one community, and one vision at a time.
