American Water Resources and the City of Phoenix Partner to Protect Homeowners from Costly Water and Sewer Line Repairs

Affordable Water and Sewer Line Protection Offers Peace of Mind for the City’s Homeowners

PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--American Water Resources, an Oncourse Company and a leading provider of home protection plans, has been selected as the City of Phoenix’s new partner to offer optional water and sewer line protection services to local homeowners. American Water Resources is now the city's choice for this vital program, offering a new, affordable option for homeowners to protect themselves from unexpected and expensive repairs.

Available for purchase by more than 350,000 homeowners serviced by the City of Phoenix, these protection programs cover water and sewer service lines that connect city infrastructure to private homes, where many repairs are needed due to Phoenix’s aging systems.

The city chose American Water Resources through a competitive public review process to ensure homeowners receive the best possible service at low monthly fees, with fast and reliable repairs. Under its agreement with the city, American Water Resources will offer protection that covers water lines and sewer lines individually or as a package for private homes.

"Many Phoenix area homeowners don’t realize they are responsible for maintaining and repairing the water and sewer lines on their property—costs that can easily run into thousands of dollars, and which are not typically covered by standard homeowners insurance,” said Aaron Cooper, Chief Executive Officer of Oncourse. “We’re thrilled to have been chosen as Phoenix’s preferred partner to offer homeowners protection from costly repairs to their water and sewer lines. For nearly a decade, we’ve helped individuals and families in the region keep their lives ‘on course’ with trusted service, expert support, and peace of mind when unexpected repairs happen.”

Currently, American Water Resources protects nearly 1.5 million homeowners in 43 states and Washington, D.C. with an average customer satisfaction rating of 95 percent. The company has already been serving nearly 10,000 customers in Phoenix and 15,000 throughout Arizona, saving local residents $1.5 million in repair costs since it began serving the region.

Homeowners who enroll in the program will benefit from American Water Resources’ A- rated service with the Better Business Bureau and access to a network of local, insured contractors. Participants can call a toll-free, 24/7 hotline to make a claim, and all repairs are backed by a one-year warranty to ensure quality of work.

Details about the program will be sent to homeowners in a letter arriving the week of November 11. Additional information is also available by calling 866-443-6039 or visiting AWRUSA.com/Phoenix.
