Church Pension Group Appoints Geeva Ebens Chief People Officer

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Church Pension Group (CPG), a financial services organization that serves The Episcopal Church, today announced the appointment of Geeva Ebens as Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer (CPO). She will replace CPG’s current CPO, Ted Elias, who will assist in transitioning the role before his retirement on October 1, 2024.

She will be responsible for human resources, facilities, and corporate sustainability and will report directly to CPG Chief Executive Officer and President Mary Kate Wold.

“I am delighted to announce Geeva’s appointment as Chief People Officer,” said Ms. Wold. “As we continue to build a culture of excellence at CPG, her extensive background as a strategic human resources leader will enhance our efforts to create a positive and inclusive work environment. Her experience in developing programs and initiatives that attract and retain top talent will further our position as an employer of choice, and I look forward to working with her.”

Ms. Ebens has more than 20 years of multidisciplinary business experience and previously served as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Omnicom Health Group. Before this, she held various senior-level human resources roles of increasing importance at Marsh and Mercer. She also spent 12 years in business roles at Pfizer. She received an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a BA in economics from Amherst College.

“I want to thank Ted for his leadership and service over the past ten and a half years,” Ms. Wold continued. “He has been a critical player on our executive leadership team. He helped spearhead our employee efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, built out a best-in-class in-house employee professional development program, and advanced our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. I wish him the very best in retirement.”
