Paychex Named to TIME’s 2024 America’s Best Companies List

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Paychex, Inc., a leading provider of integrated human capital management software solutions for human resources, employee benefits, insurance services, and payroll, has been included on TIME’s inaugural list of America’s Best Midsize Companies. The company ranked 29th out of 500 top-performing U.S.-based organizations for the strength of the Paychex culture, business results, and corporate responsibility efforts.

“It is an honor to be considered by TIME as one of America’s best midsize companies,” said John Gibson, Paychex president and CEO. “We remain focused on our purpose of helping businesses succeed and are committed to being the best operators in our industry. In doing so, we continue to deliver value to our customers, investors, and the communities where our more than 16,000 employees live and work. An achievement such as this recognition would not be possible without the hard work and dedication our employees give each day that helps drive our organization.”

The list, presented by TIME and Statista, Inc., features organizations identified based on three dimensions, using more than 15 different criteria. The project scope considered all U.S.-based companies that generated at least $100 million in revenue but less than $10 billion in 2022 or 2023.

The three evaluation criteria were:

  • Employee Satisfaction: Data of standardized work-related KPIs based on surveys of a large sample of employees from U.S. companies.
  • Positive Revenue Growth: Revenue growth data of all relevant companies obtained from the internal Statista Growth Database and Company Database.
  • Sustainability Transparency: Corporate responsibility data among standard KPIs relevant to environment, social, and corporate governance obtained from the internal Statista ESG Database and targeted data research.

In 2024, Paychex was named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the 16th time. This designation was bestowed upon the company for demonstrating business integrity through best-in-class ethics, compliance, and governance practices. In addition, Paychex was inducted into the Training Hall of Fame for the company’s 23rd consecutive appearance on Training magazine’s list of the world’s top training organizations for the company’s commitment to employee development and innovative training programs.
