Smartsheet Integrates Amazon Q on AWS to Implement New Generative AI-Powered Assistant for its Employees

New integration deepens the Partnership between Smartsheet and AWS by using the power of Amazon Q, a generative AI assistant, to boost productivity and securely tap into organizational knowledge

BELLEVUE, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Smartsheet (NYSE: SMAR), the enterprise work management platform, today shared that it has implemented Amazon Q Business, a new generative AI-powered assistant, to streamline knowledge management and accelerate employee productivity in the cloud. Smartsheet is using the technology to consolidate its organizational knowledge into a single AI engine that gives its workforce immediate answers through natural language queries.

Smartsheet embedded Amazon Q in the company’s Slack app to help its more than 3,300 global employees quickly get answers to their questions without having to know where the information lives organizationally – in just a few short weeks, and without writing a single line of code. The Smartsheet Amazon Q chatbot, @AskMe, is trained on public help documents, training courses, and hundreds of all-employee Slack help channels. Employees can simply tag @AskMe in any Slack channel, ask a question, and Amazon Q will instantly give them an answer. The chatbot has saved Smartsheet employees significant time spent searching for answers to their questions so they can move faster to confidently support the company’s customers and drive innovation. Use of the @AskMe chatbot has been adopted at all levels of the company to help foster a self-serve mentality and allow employees to answer questions quickly so they can focus on the most impactful work. Executive leadership using the app noted increased visibility, curiosity, and engagement with projects, while having to ask employees for only a fraction of the information directly.
