Qnergy’s Methane Abatement Technology Goes Solar With CAP Pico

OGDEN, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Qnergy, the leader in pioneering solutions for the distributed methane challenge, is proud to announce that it has officially launched the CAP Pico for all customers. The Compressed Air Pneumatics (CAP) solution utilizes solar power to replace and convert methane emissions with low flow, low cost compressed air. As Qnergy’s smallest air package to date, CAP Pico is perfect for brownfield retrofit solutions with low air requirements.

Pneumatic devices powered by pressurized natural gas are widely used in the natural gas industry for process control and chemical injection. These devices vent methane directly into the environment threatening the clean fuel advantages of natural gas. Qnergy’s patent-pending, innovative CAP product line replaces methane emissions from pneumatic devices with clean, dry air. CAP Pico is the first of its kind with a solar powered option, ideal for off-grid well pad operations. CAP systems offer the lowest cost compliance with minimal operating expenditure, redundant compressors, and one hour per year maintenance.

With more than 1,600,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent methane abated since 2020 and more than 2,000 units installed across the U.S., Canada, and South America, Qnergy continues to advance its paramount methane abatement technology, firmly solidifying the company as a trusted partner in the natural gas industry.

“CAP Pico is designed for customers that need a reliable, low cost, low flow air pneumatics solution,” said Dr. Ory Zik, Qnergy CEO. “This product complements our larger compressed air pneumatics systems that are typically powered by our Stirling Engine Technology. Our ability to address unique client requirements is part of our DNA. Today’s announcement comes after a year of beta testing. It is especially relevant for small operators and operators that own low producing wells.”
