Bloom Energy and Tarana Wireless to Host Stars and Strides 5K-10K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, June 29, Benefiting Valley Health Foundation

WHAT: The 4th Annual Stars and Strides 5K-10K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run, sponsored by Tarana Wireless and Bloom Energy, benefiting the Valley Health Foundation.

  • The 5K-10K Run/Walk is for people of all ages and fitness levels.
  • The Kids Fun Run is for children between the ages of two and seven and will take place within Discovery Meadow Park. The kids course is approximately ¼ mile and parents are welcome to participate with their children.
  • Santa Clara County Sheriff Bob Jonsen will kick off the HP Inc Kids Fun Run by landing the Sheriff’s helicopter, complete with superheroes, in the festival area at 9:30 AM.
  • Enjoy live music, lawn games, food trucks, face painting, an inflatable obstacle course, pictures with superheroes, and more.
  • Race participants will have the opportunity to take part in the following contests:
    • Alaska Airlines Costume Contest: 2 free roundtrip airline tickets awarded to the "Best Independence Day Theme," 2 free roundtrip airline tickets for the "Best Non-Independence Day Theme" and gift baskets for the best “Group Costume Contest.”

WHEN: Saturday, June 29. The 5K-10K Run/Walk starts at 8:00 AM, and the Kids Fun Run starts at 10:00 AM. The Sheriff’s helicopter will land at 9:30 AM.

WHERE: Discovery Meadow in Downtown San Jose, ​​adjacent to the Children's Discovery Museum.

WHY: Proceeds from this year’s race will benefit the Valley Health Foundation, a nonprofit leader in community health and healthcare that fundraises to support, innovate, and advocate for better health for residents in Santa Clara County. This year’s donation goal is $360,000 to help Valley Health Foundation with its life-saving work.
