Missouri American Water’s 2023 Water Quality Reports Now Available Online

Reports Show Water Utility Continues to Meet or Surpass Water Quality Standards

ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Missouri American Water announces the company’s 2023 Water Quality Reports are now available to customers on the company’s website. Also referred to as Consumer Confidence Reports, the publications describe local drinking water sources, summarize laboratory testing conducted on water, list the levels of any substances contained in the water and provide tips on protecting water sources.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources set standards for water quality and monitor test results to help utilities meet those standards. Missouri American Water continues to meet or surpass these across the state.

“Our team of highly skilled professionals are committed to delivering safe, clean, reliable water service to our customers, and we’re proud to meet or surpass state and federal health and safety regulations,” said Rich Svindland, president of Missouri American Water. “We continually invest in our treatment plants and distribution systems to provide quality water and reliable service.”

Missouri American Water is investing more than $500 million statewide in 2024 to maintain reliable water service. Projects include replacing over 90 miles of aging water pipes and water treatment plant projects.

Six of Missouri American Water’s treatment plants including Jefferson City, Joplin and all four serving St. Louis County are nationally recognized with the Directors Award for the Partnership for Safe Water, a voluntary initiative developed by six prestigious drinking water organizations, including the U.S. EPA. The award recognizes systems for consistently surpassing federal and state drinking water standards. These plants have been recognized with this distinction for 22 years.
