Knowles Supertweeters Power New EarSonics Precision In-Ear Monitors

Balanced armature drivers elevate the EM96 IEMs to deliver true-to-life sound for professional musicians, sound engineers and audiophiles.

ITASCA, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Knowles Corporation (NYSE: KN), a market leader and global provider of advanced micro-acoustic microphones and speakers, audio solutions, and high-performance capacitors and RF products, today announced its selection by EarSonics to provide balanced armature (BA) drivers for its EM96 Customizable In-Ear Monitor (IEM).

Knowles BAs have long been a favorite of IEM designers thanks to their small form factor, powerful output, and treble extension capabilities. EM96 delivers unmatched precision and fidelity with a three-way crossover of six Knowles drivers per earpiece, including two woofers and two mid-range BAs. It is also the first IEM in Europe to use two Knowles Supertweeters.

Featuring a patented coil design with reduced inductance, the Knowles Supertweeter uses a specially constructed high-stiffness, low-mass reed to deliver unprecedented output and ultra-high treble frequency without requiring an amplifier or transformer. The Supertweeters enable EM96 to achieve a high-frequency response extending up to 25kHz.
