Hamilton Appoints Athena Tolosa as Chief Financial Officer at Hamilton Re

PEMBROKE, Bermuda--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. (NYSE: HG) (“Hamilton” or “the Company”) announced today the appointment of Athena Tolosa as Chief Financial Officer at Hamilton Re, the Company’s Bermuda-based insurance and reinsurance underwriting platform, replacing Chad Cundliffe who has retired from the organisation.

Tolosa will report to Hamilton Re Chief Executive Officer Megan Thomas and Group Chief Accounting Officer Brian Deegan and is based in Bermuda.

In welcoming Tolosa, Thomas said, “Athena’s appointment is an excellent addition to Hamilton and I look forward to working closely with her. She has an accomplished financial background with an impressive track record in the industry. Her experience and counsel will help to ensure our finance team pursues its key priorities in support of Hamilton Re’s continued success.

Tolosa has enjoyed a successful 18+ year career in the (re)insurance industry. She joins Hamilton from RenaissanceRe where she held a range of senior roles for five years, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Head of Finance - Reinsurance. Prior to RenaissanceRe, Tolosa spent 11 years at Tokio Millenium Re (now RenaissanceRe) where she held roles of increasing seniority in both Bermuda and Switzerland, with her last role as Vice President, Finance. Earlier in her career, she worked with EY in Bermuda and PwC in the Philippines. Tolosa is a Certified Public Accountant.
