Fresh Retail Software Industry Leader Invafresh Announces Appointment of Andrew Cron, PhD as Chief Data Officer

Invafresh strengthens AI/ML and analytics capabilities for global customer base.

TORONTO--()--Invafresh, the industry leading fresh grocery platform, today announced Andrew Cron, PhD has joined the company as Chief Data Officer.

Andrew is an accomplished executive-level data scientist and technology thought leader with a proven track record in driving transformational business results by bridging the gap between cutting-edge technology innovation and real-world application.

He joins Invafresh from 84.51˚, Kroger’s retail data science, insights and media company, where he was SVP, Chief Scientist. In this role, directing a 100-member cross functional team comprising of researchers, data scientists and engineers, Andrew built and led the R&D vision and strategy for Kroger’s data analytics and data monetization subsidiary, enhancing Kroger’s in-store and supply chain operations, as well as CPG partner product performance. Prior to 84.51˚, Andrew held senior data scientist roles with Citadel LLC, Weinrub Analytics and MaxPoint.

Andrew holds a PhD in Statistical Science from Duke University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. He was also an Adjunct Faculty Member for the Department of Statistical Science at Duke University. In addition, Andrew was a 2023 Progressive Grocer GenNext honoree and he sits on the board of Last Mile Food Rescue, a Cincinnati nonprofit leveraging technology to reduce hunger and food waste by connecting those in need with fresh food.
