CORAL GABLES, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Garcia Santa Maria PLLC, a certified public accounting firm in South Florida providing tax, accounting, and litigation support services in Coral Gables, Florida, announces new audit practice and partners joining the firm. Pedro M. De Armas, CPA and Alex Trujillo, CPA will join the firm and together lead the firm’s new audit department. The partners bring with them an audit team of certified public accountants.

Pedro M. De Armas and Alex Trujillo were previously name audit partners at Verdeja De Armas Trujillo Alvarez LLP. The partners have specialized audit experience spanning over 25 years serving many of South Florida’s largest organizations, nonprofits, and schools.

Pedro M. De Armas CPA has more than 30 years of experience in public and private accounting. Pedro was previously responsible for overseeing the audit team and quality standards at Verdeja De Armas Trujillo Alvarez LLP, joining the firm in 1995. De Armas helped grow the firm to be one of South Florida’s largest local firms and developed a specialized audit practice serving large nonprofit organizations, private foundations, and private closely-held businesses.

Alex Trujillo CPA has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting, joining Verdeja De Armas Trujillo Alvarez LLP in 2002. Alex has specialized audit experience in the audits of nonprofits, for-profit, and government organizations. In addition, Alex has developed a specialty in the audits of schools, with a particular focus on Charter Schools in South Florida.

The firm will change its name to Garcia Santa María De Armas Trujilo PLLC, GSMDT, with their main office at 135 San Lorenzo Avenue in Coral Gables, Florida. The firm has plans to hire professionals at various levels in the audit and tax departments with opportunities both in the office and remotely.
