HealthPartners names Megan Remark chief operating officer of care group

BLOOMINGTON, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Megan Remark has been named chief operating officer of the HealthPartners care group, the organization announced today. Remark, who has been president of Regions Hospital and senior vice president of HealthPartners since 2015, joins co-executive medical directors Dr. Steve Connelly and Dr. Mark Sannes in leading HealthPartners hospitals and clinics systemwide.

“In her almost 30 years with HealthPartners, Megan has earned a reputation as a strong, experienced, mission-driven partner who is committed to our patients, members and the communities we serve,” said Andrea Walsh, HealthPartners president and CEO. “Her extensive experience in various leadership capacities within the organization, from primary to specialty and hospital roles, uniquely equips her for this broader leadership position.”

Remark began her career at HealthPartners in 1995 as the Como Clinic manager in St. Paul and has expanded her role many times since then. As vice president of specialty care, she led several major facility expansions in St. Paul, including HealthPartners Specialty Center and HealthPartners Neuroscience Center. During her tenure at Regions, she oversaw the expansion of the hospital’s Level I trauma center, inpatient mental health unit and opening of a new birth center.

Service to others has been a priority throughout her career, beginning with the colleagues she works with every day. In the community, she focuses on education, workforce development, affordable housing and building trust in the community through her work on diversity, equity and inclusion. She has served on several community boards, including the St. Paul Downtown Alliance and CommonBond Communities.

She has been recognized as a leader in the Twin Cities with honors that include Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal’s 40 Under 40, the Girl Scouts Woman of Distinction award, the Community Builder award from Northern Star Scouting, and the Leadership award from Women’s Health Leadership Trust.

“HealthPartners is an amazing organization fueled by 27,000 colleagues working together each and every day to make a difference in the lives of the people we serve,” Remark said. “It’s that purpose and passion that propels us forward to provide the best care and experience for our patients. I’m so honored to be part of this team and excited to begin in this new role.”

Remark will continue to lead Regions until a new hospital president is named.
