A Year of Impact: 750+ Volunteer Hours, $135,000+ Charitable Donations, $87,500 Scholarships

Corvias Foundation Aligns Community Support with the Residents and Partners it Serves Every Day

WARWICK, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Generously giving back to its communities is a core principle of Corvias. Through a comprehensive approach encompassing volunteering, matching donations, scholarship provisioning, creation of a thriving work environment, and supporting non-profit organizations, Corvias and its team members are investing in their communities through Corvias Foundation. With a remarkable year of impact marked by more than 750 volunteer hours, charitable donations exceeding $135,000, and scholarships totaling $87,500, Corvias Foundation aligns its community support with the residents and partners it serves each day.

Volunteering

Using VTIME, which provides each employee with eight hours annually to volunteer during the workday, employees individually volunteered nearly 570 hours. Pamela Self, who is a resident manager at Fort Johnson, used her VTIME to volunteer for a traumatic brain injury camp for survivors and caregivers. For the past few years, accountant Kerry Zick has been using her VTIME for an organization that delivers services to victims of domestic violence. A passionate advocate for the Oklahoma Future Farmers of America, Fort Sill Operations Director, Amber Moser, used her VTIME to volunteer at the annual convention.

Corvias employees also found ways to volunteer as a team. In 2023, team volunteering accounted for nearly 190 hours and included organizations such as Operation Stand Down Rhode Island, Habitat for Humanity, the Armed Forces Cycling Classic, and others. Activities range from renovating a home for a veteran, honoring fallen soldiers for a Memorial Day display, providing school supplies and back packs to elementary students, and much more.

Matching Donations

Supporting employees and growing their positive impact, the Corvias donation-match program multiplies employee donations to non-profit organizations of their choice. In 2023, Corvias team members donated more than $34,500 to more than 80 organizations. Together with the donation-match funds, more than $91,500 has been donated to organizations that provide a range of services, including animal rescue organizations, veteran-centered therapeutic activities, cancer research, and service animal training.

Scholarships

In 2023, two children of Corvias employees were awarded scholarships valued at $50,000 from Corvias Foundation. To help military families achieve their higher education dreams, the foundation’s partnership with the National Military Family Association awarded $25,000 in scholarships to 25 spouses to enable them to secure licenses and certifications necessary to continue in their careers when they move to a new military installation.

Corvias Foundation also donated $25,000 each to No Greater Sacrifice and the Army Scholarship Foundation in support of each organization’s generous scholarships for military families.

Non-Profit Support

Aligned with its core business focus on enhancing the quality of life of military families and students, Corvias Foundation provided financial support to organizations that are structured to have significant, positive impact on those they serve. Support of the Veteran’s Spouse Project is helping to give a voice to military spouses, while a gift to Operation Stand Down Rhode Island helps this organization continue giving veterans a hand up. Through Corvias Foundation’s support of Rhode Islanders Sponsoring Education, which is dedicated to breaking the cycle of incarceration, high schoolers across the state who are children of habitually incarcerated parents, are finding educational opportunities to take them down a productive path.

In total, Corvias Foundation gifted nearly $44,000 to these organizations that do so much to help others. Each donation reflects Corvias' commitment to making a positive impact on the communities it serves.
