Emmy Winner and Veteran Journalist Ashleigh Barry Named Senior Vice President of Communications at the National Association for Veteran Rights

WASHINGTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Association for Veteran Rights (NAVR) announces the appointment of Ashleigh Barry as its Senior Vice President of Communications. With a distinguished career spanning over two decades in investigative journalism, strategic communications, and federal government service, Barry brings unparalleled expertise and a deep-rooted commitment to supporting our Nation’s Veterans.

NAVR, a national trade association, stands at the forefront of promoting transparency and ethical conduct among companies engaging with service-disabled Veterans and remains steadfast in its advocacy for businesses empowering Veterans.

Former Acting U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Peter O’Rourke, who currently serves as President of NAVR, hails her extensive experience as a strategic communicator within the VA. Barry served as a lead communications advisor to four Presidential VA Cabinet secretaries and held pivotal roles as a Senior Executive and as a Senior Strategic Communications Advisor.

While serving in the VA partnerships office, Barry and her team successfully initiated and managed internal and external communications in the public/private sector partnership community of 50+ organizations and implemented $250+ million in co-developed programs in support of the VA’s highest priorities, including key Telehealth programs with the American Legion, Philips, T-Mobile, VFW, and Walmart.
