Old Glory Bank Blasts the Federal Government's Intrusion into Americans’ Personal Banking Transactions

“If Old Glory Bank were ever asked, we wouldn’t comply.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Old Glory Bank’s Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Eric Ohlhausen, blasted the Federal government’s apparent unconstitutional intrusion into Americans’ personal banking transactions, as uncovered by the Congressional Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.

Committee Chair Jim Jordan revealed recently that the Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) warned financial institutions to flag “extremism indicator” transactions where words like “MAGA” and “TRUMP” or the purchase of faith-based books were involved. According to the subcommittee, the federal government “urged large financial institutions to comb through the private transactions of their customers for suspicious charges on the basis of protected political and religious expression.”

“Old Glory Bank is an unwavering supporter of its customers’ privacy, security and liberty. For years, we’ve heard reports of big banks sharing transactional data without being legally compelled to do so, but this recent news suggests even more egregious communication between banks and the Feds than previously understood.” said Eric Ohlhausen, Chief Strategy Officer of Old Glory Bank. “If banks that cared about their customers were asked to participate in the violation of our most basic Bill of Rights, those banks should have informed the press, immediately. If Old Glory Bank were ever asked, we wouldn’t comply. And, we would immediately go public about the request.”

“In America, we should never investigate people and track their financial transactions based on values, beliefs or politics. A fundamental tenet of American liberty is to forbid illegal search and seizure. If any financial institution assisted the Government in violating the Constitutional rights of their customers, those banks should immediately come forward and disclose what they did.”

Old Glory Bank is America’s leading pro-freedom Bank, who would never de-bank a law-abiding customer or assist the Government with investigating Constitutionally protected behavior. Old Glory Bank’s co-founders include pro-America voices such as former HUD Secretary Dr. Ben Carson, Country Music Superstar John Rich, radio and TV host Larry Elder, and former Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin, among many others.
