BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD OF ARIZONA ACHIEVES THEIR HIGHEST EVER MEDICATION ADHERENCE STAR RATING THROUGH PARTNERSHIP WITH CURANT HEALTH
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona (AZ Blue) has achieved their first overall 4-Star Rating in the 2024 Medicare Advantage Star Ratings released by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) for their HMO plan. These star ratings reflect the exceptional quality and performance of the health plan, encompassing key aspects such as patient outcomes, care accessibility, member satisfaction, and preventive healthcare measures.
AZ Blue’s partnership with Curant Health was a key factor in achieving this first ever overall 4-Star Rating. The Star measure improvements in this program were guided by Curant Health’s proprietary Variable Intervention Treatment Algorithm (V.I.T.AL.™) approach combined with a clinician-administered care model that utilizes a multidisciplinary clinical team to support members throughout their journey to improve health outcomes. This novel approach leverages validated clinical protocols and best-in-class technology to achieve optimal member outcomes through meaningful interventions at peak efficiency. Curant Health’s unique member engagement tools focused primarily on improving Part D medication adherence measures in diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, and statin use in persons with diabetes. Furthermore, this partnership demonstrated a positive influence on several Part C measures, such as closing gaps in care, medication reconciliation post-discharge, and the newest CMS measure, transitions of care.
