Agritask Supports IFC’s Global Mission of Optimizing Sustainable Agricultural Practices with Carbon Accounting Solution

The project with IFC improves cultivation visibility down to the plot level for major coffee, pepper and rice traders and manufacturers

TEL AVIV, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Agritask, a crop supply data intelligence software company, today announced the addition of its carbon accounting solution, integrated with the IRRI calculator, to its agriculture optimization project in Vietnam with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. The sustainability-focused solution will enable rice traders and manufacturers to track scope 3 agricultural emissions as reported by farmers through a mobile application.

At IFC’s request, Agritask developed a mobile application to digitize agriculture practices, which over 2,000 smallholder farmers of coffee, pepper and rice used in the Central Highlands and Mekong Delta in Vietnam throughout 2022 and 2023. “We have helped farmers adopt best agriculture practices and digitize their workflows while also improving visibility down the value chain. We are proud to support over 2,000 Vietnamese farmers utilizing this system,” said Marta Bogdanic, Senior Operation Officer at IFC.

Agritask built a custom mobile application through which growers receive tailored digital agronomic advice, such as real-time weather alerts and crop care. Food and beverage traders engaged in the project, such as ECOM and Simexco, with the support of JDE, gain access to digitized dashboards from growers that improve accountability, visibility, and standards.

On November 9, 2023, Ofir Ardon, CEO of Agritask, discussed the impact of digitized agriculture workflows on safety, regulation, and sustainability in Vietnam during the IFC-organized event, “Digital Disruption in Agriculture Forum: The Way Forward in Vietnam.” Ardon shared his expertise on the panel, “Digitizing Supply Chains to Enhance Sustainable Agri Practices, Traceability, and Enable Certification.”

“I was honored to be on the ground in Vietnam to talk about the local agri-food supply chain transformations that are driving food security, supply chain resiliency and sustainability,” says Ofir Ardon, CEO of Agritask. “Together with the IFC and participating Vietnamese agribusiness companies, Agritask is helping pioneer digital, responsible farming in Vietnam to inform and improve communities for decades to come.”
