Tamara Lange Joins JAMS in San Francisco

Former U.S. district court ADR director joins JAMS as mediator, arbitrator and special master/referee

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Tamara Lange to its panel. Ms. Lange joins JAMS after serving as ADR director for the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, where she mediated and evaluated hundreds of cases and supervised other neutrals in thousands more.

Based in the San Francisco Resolution Center, Ms. Lange will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and special master/referee, handling employment, healthcare, intellectual property, constitutional and civil rights, personal injury, education, insurance and complex commercial litigation disputes, including class and representative actions, disability access and discrimination claims, and qui tam matters. Ms. Lange’s thorough preparation, skillful listening and thoughtful engagement have brought accolades from counsel both in these primary areas of practice and in many other fields, including product liability, maritime, environmental, labor relations, real estate and Native American law. She is available to conduct sessions in person, as well as virtually, for clients across the country.

“Ms. Lange has built an outstanding career around the core traits of integrity, discernment and intellectual engagement. Her active listening and empathy have earned her the respect of clients and colleagues alike, and her depth of experience across wide-ranging practice areas makes her a standout ADR professional,” said Chris Poole, JAMS CEO.

As an advocate, Ms. Lange handled commercial, patent, copyright, insurance coverage, environmental, entertainment and class action cases at a global law firm in San Francisco and a litigation boutique in Los Angeles. She went on to lead and collaborate in cutting-edge constitutional, civil rights, employment, disability, detention conditions and education-related litigation for the national ACLU LGBTQ & HIV Project and the National Center for Youth Law. She also served as lead deputy of the Office of the County Counsel of Santa Clara County and as a solo practitioner, focusing on a variety of practice areas and advocacy issues, including healthcare litigation, policy and regulatory compliance.

“I’ve had the tremendous opportunity to handle complex litigation from every perspective: as plaintiff’s counsel, defense counsel, government counsel and federal court neutral. I look forward to continuing my work as a neutral in my new role at JAMS and to working with parties and their lawyers to forge enduring resolutions,” said Ms. Lange.

Ms. Lange received her B.A., cum laude, from Cornell University and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif.
