eClinical Solutions Doubles Down on Data Security, Privacy with New ISO Certifications

Internationally recognized ISO 27001 and 27701 certifications ensure maximum protections for clinical technology data amid growing data complexity in the life sciences

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--eClinical Solutions, a global provider of digital clinical software and services, today announced it has obtained ISO 27001:2022 and 27701:2019 certification of its Information Security Management (ISMS) and Privacy Information Management Systems (PIMS) from the International Standards Organization (ISO). The new accreditations, in addition to eClinical Solutions’ longstanding SOC 2 Type II compliance, highlight the company’s commitment to managing risk related to the security of data it owns and manages, keeping that data safe, and complying with evolving privacy laws and regulations.

The ISO 27001 standard provides best practices for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving ISMS, and ISO 27701 extends that standard into a PIMS, providing best practices to protect data and ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and similar regulations.

“Having successfully maintained our SOC 2 Type II certification for several years and continuing to evolve our posture with the addition of these two ISO certifications, eClinical Solutions is deeply dedicated to the ongoing investment in our governance, risk management, and compliance program and enabling protection in an environment as complex as the life sciences,” said Evan Grunbaum, VP, Quality & Compliance and Data Protection Officer.

“We remain focused on the continuous improvement of our cybersecurity and data privacy program to protect our clients’ and employees’ valuable data. By meeting these rigorous, global standards, we’re demonstrating that we take great care in protecting and securing our customer and employee data and the integrity of digital trials,” said Scott Thursby, VP, IT & Security and Information Security Officer.

eClinical Solutions’ certifications were issued by ISOQAR, Inc, an accredited certification body against a variety of management standards, based on the successful completion of a thorough, formal audit. Additionally, eClinical Solutions’ long standing Compliance Partner, 360 Advanced, provided oversight throughout the process.
