Corvias Announces 2024 Employee Scholarship Applications Open November 1, 2023

$50,000 Annual Awards Support Students and Making Corvias a Best Place to Work

WARWICK, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today, Corvias Foundation announces the opening of the application period for its annual Employee Scholarships. Each year, Corvias Foundation awards scholarships up to $50,000 in total to children of one or more Corvias team members, nationwide.

Through these scholarships, Corvias seeks to support its employees’ families by providing reliable, recurring financial assistance disbursed over a student’s undergraduate study. To be eligible, a student must:

  • Be a child of a Corvias employee who has been employed at Corvias for at least six months at the time of the application due date
  • Be between the ages of 16 and 19 at the time of application
  • Have a minimum 3.0 cumulative unweighted GPA at the time of application
  • Plan to attend a four-year college or university as an undergraduate student for the entire 2024-25 academic year

Children of Corvias employees may apply online here.

Applications are due by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 16, 2024.

"Not only does this scholarship represent a meaningful boost to young scholars’ educational careers, it also represents the value Corvias places on caring for its employees. Access to educational opportunities is so crucial for young people to realize their dreams, and I am delighted this scholarship resides at the heart of our employee experience,” said Jen Sousa, Corvias Foundation’s Board President and Corvias Chief Operating Officer. “We strive to make Corvias a place where our team members feel valued, rewarded, and challenged to do their best work. We’re not successful if we’re not giving back.”

Corvias offers additional opportunities for team members to practice its three Core Principles: to deliver the highest level of customer service; to generously give back to the community; and to make Corvias the best place to work. These employee opportunities include volunteering, tuition reimbursement, a two-for-one donation match program, flexible work schedules, opportunities for professional growth, and a benefits package that is generous and flexible enough to meet employees where they are today and tomorrow.

Previous scholarship award winners include 2023 recipients Aiyana Myers and Declan Faherty. Aiyana attends North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, the largest of the historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), where she pursues a degree in social work with a goal of supporting children. She is the child of Michelle Matthewson-Woodard, program office administrator for Corvias at Fort Liberty. Meanwhile, Declan attends the University of Rhode Island, where he pursues a degree in finance; he is the child of Kerrie Faherty, a human resources administrator who works at Corvias in the Warwick, Rhode Island, office.
