HealthTrust CMO Highlights Strategy for Ensuring a Clinically Integrated Supply Chain at MGMA Conference

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HealthTrust Performance GroupSM, a leading performance improvement organization supporting providers across all healthcare settings, announced that chief medical officer John J. Young, M.D., MBA will discuss critical factors in developing a clinically integrated supply chain at the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) Leaders Conference. The conference, being held October 22-25 at the Music City Center in Nashville, Tennessee, attracts ambulatory-care executives, medical group practices, and independent providers from across the U.S. Dr. Young will present a Solution Spotlight on October 23 at 2:00 p.m. detailing how a clinically integrated supply chain operates within a group purchasing (GPO) relationship.

“Every classification of provider, from hospitals to ambulatory surgery centers, physician offices, urgent care centers, and long-term acute care facilities, would benefit greatly from expanding their GPO relationship beyond cost savings,” said Dr. Young. “Independent physicians and practice managers stand to gain from collaborating with their GPO for best-practice sharing and overcoming challenges such as cost inflation, workforce shortages, and supply chain disruptions. This is what we mean by a ‘clinically-integrated’ supply chain—evolving relationships from transactional to transformative in shaping overall performance.”

As part of his presentation, Dr. Young will invite MGMA members to participate in a 90-day program granting them free access to a library of actionable resources, a peer network, and a forum to ask clinical questions. “Inclusive of the acquisition of Expansion, LLC, HealthTrust is building a more robust, best-of-breed organization that is amplifying our ability to serve the growing non-acute market. We’re excited about sharing insights with provider groups and highlighting the value they can achieve from a clinically integrated supply chain.”

Attendees of Dr. Young’s segment will be eligible for continuing education credit from the American College of Medical Practice Executives. To register for the MGMA Leaders Conference, please visit this link.
