The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas and Members Award More Than $166K to 13 Mississippi Community Organizations

FHLB Dallas’ Partnership Grant Program Provides 3:1 Match of Members’ Donations

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mississippi community-based organizations received $166,500 from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas) and seven member institutions. A total of $557,250 was awarded to community organizations through its annual Partnership Grant Program (PGP). View the award recipients.

“With its matching funds, our Partnership Grant Program gives our members added leverage to support local nonprofits,” said Greg Hettrick, senior vice president and director of Community Investment at FHLB Dallas. “Our members are very supportive of local community organizations, and we are proud to provide funds that help with their endeavors.”

Under the program, FHLB Dallas member institutions contribute $500 to $4,000 to a nonprofit, which FHLB Dallas matches at a 3:1 ratio to provide up to $12,000 to the organization per member. The awards help promote and strengthen relationships between community-based nonprofits and FHLB Dallas members.

The following community-based organizations were supported in Mississippi:

  • Fuller Center for Housing of Houston, MS (Houston, Mississippi) - $16,000

  • Housing Education and Economic Development (Jackson, Mississippi) - $32,500

  • Mississippi Faith Based Coalition for Community Renewal (Jackson, Mississippi) - $12,000

  • Friends of Lexington Preservation (Lexington, Mississippi) - $16,000

  • Home With Heroes Foundation (Natchez, Mississippi) - $12,000

It’s extremely rewarding,” said William Lehr, executive vice president and chief investment officer at Community Bank of Mississippi, which received PGP grants for 13 community-based organizations.

The PGP may be used for:

  • Organizational capacity building
  • Assistance with applying for grants and other funding sources
  • Research and studies
  • Contractual services
  • General operating expenses
